When you are learning to bless instead of control

Children are a gift from the Lord, not property to control.

When you are learning to bless instead of control. That sounds small until it is your Tuesday morning. You do not have to deny what is happening. Christianity is not pretending. The question is whether the circumstance gets to become lord over the meaning of your life. Your child is deeply loved by you, but belongs to God before they belong to your expectations. Jesus Christ can lead where your control cannot reach. You are allowed to slow down long enough to choose obedience instead of repetition.

What part of this situation belongs to you, and what part are you trying to carry for God?

Jesus, I do not want an old pattern making today's decision for me. Renew my mind, steady my emotions, and lead me in truth. You are Lord here too. Amen.
